There were a bunch of people singing and chanting and setting off this orange smoke thing. We wondered what was going on, and it turned out that the entire public transport system was on strike...for the one day we needed to go to the airport. So we had to take a taxi.

It's amazing how much more of the Berlin Wall there was 20 years ago when we saw it - just after the wall came down. We had to pay to chip off a few pieces as a souvenir!!
